GuiFei was originally crafted in FengHuang village in Nantou's LuGu county (an area famous for creating the DongDing oolong style.) On 9/21/99, a 7.6 magnitude earthquake affected the area. Thousands were killed, tens of thousands were injured, more than a hundred thousand were made homeless. Tea gardens were abandoned and tea plants left to grow wild.

Our FengHuang GuiFei was crafted in remembrance of our founder's grandmother (originally from FengHuang village) who passed recently and as an homage to those affected by the disaster. It is a declaration that even in the darkest hours we can rise and overcome.
