Heritage Green

Description

Tea: Heritage Green

Grower: Rajen Baruah of Heritage Tea

Origin: Dibrugarh, in Assam, India

Harvest Date: May 8, 2014

• • •

A simple, sweet, and light green tea with vegetal flavors and fine mineral notes. Brews up smooth and easy, and has very little bitterness. Recommended for everyday drinking, and novice green tea drinkers who dislike the bitter, grassy, or seaweed flavors in green tea.

Green tea is unusual for Assam, a tea region dominated by large companies that make low-quality tea. Rajen Baruah had worked for these large tea companies, but came out of retirement to establish Heritage Tea. He is now empowering Assam tea farmers to make specialty teas like these.

Heritage Tea grows with locally-sourced vermicompost, and is completely chemical-free.
