Amber Red is a double-roasted black tea with complex, full flavors. Notes of molasses, raisin, and sweet potato, with a hint of grape and caramelized sugar. The aftertaste is incredibly sweet and thick for a black tea. Thanks to the double-roasting, this tea has almost no astringency or dryness.
The leaves have a strong, sweet fragrance and a root-vegetable undertone that are characteristic of Nepal's high-altitude teas.
Hariyali Cooperative, headed by Purna Mukhiya, grows with all-natural techniques and is part of Nepal's first independent tea cooperative. Hariyali, along with other Nepalese estates, are working hard to make a name for Nepal in the specialty tea industry, and to break away from being raw leaf suppliers to India.
