Black Pearl is a rolled black tea from Sumatra, Indonesia. It is grown in the mineral-rich, volcanic soils of the island. Indonesian black teas are an interesting compromise between the sweet, smooth Chinese black teas, and the bright, bold Indian black teas.
This tea is strong and bright, but also sweet and crisp. The fruity notes resemble the flavor of Washington Red apples. The texture is brisk, but very smooth. It has an incredibly balanced profile that is universally appealing.
Recommended as a daily drinker. It can be adapted to suit the seasons; it makes a smooth and mild brew in the winter, and a completely refreshing iced tea for the summer.
